Strata Community Australia recently released a Strata Data update. According to the update at 15 February 2017 there were 821,044 lots registered with the NSW Land and Property Information. To give a comparison in September 2016 the LPI recorded 808,376 lots in NSW.
The data as at February 2017 for the number of strata schemes within the following lot ranges is:
2 to 20 lots – 68,828 schemes registered
21 to 50 lots – 5,739 schemes registered
51 to 100 lots – 1,386 schemes registered
101 to 200 lots – 574 schemes registered
201 to 200 lots- 197 schemes registered
>500 lots – 9 schemes registered
It is easy to see from this data that the vast majority of strata schemes have between 2 to 20 lots with only a few (relatively speaking) schemes of 100+ lots.
